The Rotary Club of St Peters  has been a sponsor of the All Kids program – bringing education, nutrition and dental hygiene to children in the Reim Commune Cambodia.

July 2021 the RC St Peters partnered with All Kids, Jenny Neale (partner DG Jeff Neale) and Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) to raise funds to build an Early learning Centre at Prek Trabaek bringing education, health and nutrition to 97 children in extremely poor circumstances, who would otherwise be without access to education.

Jenny Neale as Patron of the project took the message to 87 Rotary Clubs across SA, Alice Springs, Broken Hill and Sunraysia and to delegates attending the district 9510 Barossa Conference. The goal was to raise $23K to build the centre on land donated by a Cambodian resident.

By June December 2022 Jenny had eclipsed  all expectations with Clubs and individual Rotarians contributing $48,000 to the project.

The AllKids Prek Trabaek Learning Centre is a project of Rotary Australia World Community Service

. Rotary District 9510 is the major donor group.

. The project is sponsored by the Rotary Club of St Peters, South Australia

. Prek Trabaek is situated in the South/East corner of Ream Commune, Sihanouk Province, Cambodia.

. AllKids is an Australian Non-Government Organisation providing educational

services to disadvantaged children living in rural Cambodia.

. At the time of writing, AllKids have 1400 child beneficiaries spread over three learning centres and two day care facilities.

Development on the Prek Trabaek centre commenced in June 2022 on a piece of land with National title. AllKids hold a 17-year lease on the land with a trusted

philanthropic couple who have a long association with AllKids.

The centre was completed on the 30th December 2022 and we held an opening

ceremony on 6th January 2023. All the potential 75 primary school aged children in the area now attend the centre five days a week receiving Khmer literacy,

mathematics, English and IT classes. Children also receive a range of art, performance and sports activities.

It’s interesting to note that we have more primary school children attending than identified in our initial survey as children of fisherman from the nearby Tsmei

Island are making the boat journey daily to attend.

A further 15 secondary/high school students attend the centre for English and IT classes outside of their public-school education schedules.
